Collaborations and Recognitions

In 1983, the Michelangelo Institute became one of the founding members of IALC (International Association of Language Centres), one of the most prestigious international associations of independent language schools. This role reflects the school’s commitment to promoting high quality standards and represents an important recognition of its long experience in teaching Italian to foreign students.

The school hosts the summer Italian language programmes of the Shepherd School of Music of Rice University, Houston – USA.

In 1990, the Michelangelo Institute was accredited as a CELI Examination Centre by the University for Foreigners of Perugia, confirming the high quality of its Italian language teaching. After several years as an exam centre, the school chose to concentrate its resources on teaching and student training, while continuing to prepare candidates for language certification exams through dedicated courses.

The Michelangelo Institute takes part in the Marco Polo–Turandot Project, the programme run by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) that prepares Chinese students for admission to Italian universities, fine arts academies and conservatories. For many years we have guided students through their linguistic and academic path, offering qualified preparation and personalised assistance right up to their enrolment at Universities, Fine Arts Academies and Music Conservatories.

The Michelangelo Institute is a Teaching Centre (Polo Didattico) of Unitelma – Sapienza, University of Rome (MUR). The school provides teaching support for university courses and organises master’s programmes and advanced training courses, with particular attention to the fields of Italian language, culture and art.

The Michelangelo Institute is registered with Organisation ID (OID) E10060507 under the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. Every year we collaborate with schools, universities and organisations from numerous European countries, hosting students, teachers and professionals for Italian language courses and international training programmes.

Every year the Michelangelo Institute makes available 100 scholarships for students recommended by the Italian Cultural Institutes around the world, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The initiative promotes the spread of the Italian language and culture, giving young people from many countries the opportunity to study Italian in Florence.

The Michelangelo Institute is recognised in Germany for Bildungsurlaub, allowing employees to use paid educational leave to study Italian in Florence. For many years we have welcomed students from all over Germany, offering high-quality courses in small groups and an authentic immersive experience in the Italian language and culture.

The Michelangelo Institute, in collaboration with the AD’A Art Academy of Florence, organises preparation courses for the entrance exams of Italian Fine Arts Academies. The programmes combine the study of the Italian language with specific artistic preparation, guiding students towards access to university-level art and design courses.
